Provincial Superior's Circular 2019 N. 2
21 April 2019
Alleluia! Alleluia! Christ is risen! The wondrous mystery of the whole Church makes us know and see that all things are restored to integrity in the Risen Lord. What had become old in us is made new. We are called to walk with the ‘three women on their way’ (cf. Gospel on Easter Sunday) and sent to radiate Easter joy to all we encounter “on the way” of living out our mission in daily circumstances of our lives.
The promise of a new beginning in our Risen Master and Lord opens us up, persons and communities in the Congregation, towards a journey of a ‘new design.’ Spiritual discernment, which accompanies the process of redesigning our presence, reminds us “to abandon the complacent attitude that says ‘We have done it this way (EN33).” We began our community animation in order to orient the sisters to an itinerary in preparation for the Continental Meetings 2019.
The experience of the Paschal Lamb which from death brought abundance of life has brought us graces in abundance as well. We are grateful for the gifts given to us recently with the approval to build a new Divine Master Complex in Antipolo. For this purpose, we have set the Ground Breaking of the construction on June 30, 2019. We urge you to a generous offering in earnest prayer – every sister and community. Your heartfelt and prayerful collaboration will empower our apostolic initiatives, our care and concern for all, especially the sick and elderly, so that we may all be enabled to continue witnessing our mission joyfully in a way possible for each one.
We continue to be gratefully aware that the Divine Master blesses us with the presence of young sisters in community. With them, we press onwards, graced by the following: Sr. M. Josephine Tanate will be consecrated for life in Perpetual Profession on May 12, 2019 Good Shepherd Sunday at her hometown in Aguisan, Himamaylan, Negros Occidental; Sr. Ma. Luz Cabahug is in Rome for the Pauline Charism Course; Sr. M. Jennifer Irenea Villamor is coming back from Italy on July 7, 2019 to prepare for her new mission in Hong Kong; and Sr. Ma. Carolina de Jesus will go to Jerusalem, Israel for her new assignment after the Pauline Charism Course. With these movements of the sisters are also gifts of new vocations who are preparing to join our congregation soon: Sylvia Basilio from Benguet and Jovilyn Dogwe from Ifugao.
Let us also continue to journey with our local church celebrating the Year of the Youth and with the Pauline Family in its Vocation Year.
Foremost is my “thank you” coming from the heart for your continued collaboration and commitment to the mission which brought us together to walk with vigor and vitality, retracing the steps of the disciples who told the story ‘on the road’ of what they have ‘seen of the Lord.’
A blessed Easter to all!
In the love of our Risen Master,
M. ANTHONY E. BASA, PDDM
