PDDM Epiphany 2017 Gathering
We, the sisters in Luzon had our annual gathering on the Solemnity of the Lord's Epiphany with the theme: #thatALLmaybeONE inspired by the celebration of our local church this year- Year of the Parish as Communion of Communities and for the anticipation of the 9th General Chapter this year. This was held yesterday, January 8, 2017 at the Divine Master Convent in Antipolo City.
The event featured a simple get-together and sharing of gifts and talents among the sisters. Hosted by the formation groupYoung Perpetual Professed Sisters, the celebration was jam-packed with joy through recreation, fun and surprises, as well as the heartwarming sharing of each other’s presence. We were blessed with the presence of the Mr. and Mrs. Hermie Sanchez and family who belong to the Institute of the Holy Family and our good friends, Mrs. Vangie Parrilla and the niece of Sr. M. Lucia and family.
Towards the end of the Christmas program and gift-giving, Sr M. Gemma delivered her message to the sisters, citing the motives for thanksgiving in year 2016 as well as the hopes for this year 2017. She encouraged each sister by reiterating on "docibilitas" - "a permanent inner willingness, a constant openness, to allow oneself to be taught".
After the program, was the solemn celebration of Vespers. Finally, the day culminated with a sumptuous banquet prepared by the sisters and the Sanchez family.
