Perpetual Vows of Sr. Maredith
With the gift of the new perpetually-professed member, Sr. Maredith Quijano Canoy, the Disciples of the Divine Master (PDDM) Philippine-Taiwan-Hongkong Province rejoices and give thanks to the Lord.
The solemn Mass with the rite of Perpetual Religious Profession of Vows was celebrated at the Divine Master Chapel, AntipoloCity on the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, July 22, 2017 at 10:00 o’clock in the morning. The celebration was officiated by Most Rev. Fr. Elenito Galido, Bishop of Iligan City, together with other concelebrating priests: Fr. Jerusalem De La Pena, her Parish Priest in Tubod with Rev. Elijah Sansona, priests from CICM and from the Society of St. Paul.
Sr. Maredith who is from Malingaw, Tubod, Lanao Del Norte, Iligan City, was joined, in this joy-filled event of her final vows, by her family and friends as well as the representatives from the Pauline Family and the sisters from the different communities of the province.
Bishop Galido mentioned in his homily how he describes “vocation” in three words: vocation is a mystery, a gift and a mission. He also narrated the vocation story of Sr. Maredith and how she came to feel and know her religious vocation and eventually chose PDDM as her choice of congregation. He even quoted words of Sr. Maredith herself: “Truly, everything comes from the Lord; it is God’s grace and love that sustain me. I am very grateful to this God who planted the seed of my Pauline PDDM vocation. Indeed, my dream of becoming a consecrated person was not a result from a deep sleep but a reflection rather of what the Author of every vocation sowed in my being. Aware of God’s gratuitous love, I sing my magnificat daily out of gratitude not because I deserve this gift but because God has given me the eyes to believe.”
May Jesus Master who called and consecrated her, for all her life, be her constant source of joy in the work of holiness and of service in the paths of discipleship.
Avanti con fede Sr. Maredith!
