Opening of the PDDM- LAC Iligan
After almost five years within the grounds of Inahan sa Kinabuhi Seminary, through the invitation of the Bishop, Most Reverend Elenito Galido, the PDDM Mini Liturgical Center has transferred to the heart of the diocese. It is now at the open court of the diocesan cathedral of St. Michael, Iligan City. The blessing of the mini-center was celebrated on September 12, 2017, presided over by the Bishop himself and concelebrated by the Cathedral Rector, Msgr. Rey Pati-an and the Economus of the Diocese, Rev Fr. Ubaldo Millan. We are grateful to Sr. Gemma for sending to us Sr. Alma Sabanpan, PDDM Provincial Treasurer to join us in the preparation of the new place and the celebration of the blessing.
This is significant in our journey as a congregation as we gradually move closer to the people and the clergy. The Bishop planned that the mini center be situated beside the office of the Diocesan Commission on Liturgy which is also administered by a PDDM sister. Hence, the sister assigned would have the opportunity to sense, as well as actually, find out what the people of the diocese need to deepen their life of prayer and worship.
We thank the Lord who calls and sends us to serve his people, for this grace in the life and mission of the Congregation. In the midst of the conflict and war between the government and the ISIS-linked Muslim rebels in Marawi, a town which is 30-minute drive only from our place in Iligan, we continue to experience God’s hand leading us to reach out to the people through our specific mission in the Church.
