Paulines’ Joyful Holiness
The annual Pauline Family Gathering on the occasion of the Death Anniversary of the founder Blessed James Alberione was held last November 24, 2018 at St. Paul Seminary in Silang, Cavite.
The event, also a timely celebration of the 25th Foundation Anniversary of St. Paul Seminary, was hosted by the Society of St. Paul.
The whole family celebrated the Eucharist together. In his homily,Fr. Norman Peña, rector of the seminary, articulated his grateful joy in appreciating the giftedness and holiness of every member who continue to manifest God’s creative love through different expressions of the Pauline mission.
With the theme “Joyful holiness in the Pauline Family”, the gathering was laden with games, surprises, table fellowship and presentation of different talents.
The gathering’s special feature was the Pauline Got Talent. Paulines were divided into groups composed of members coming from different congregations, lay cooperators and aggregated institutes. Activitieswhich promoted joyful camaraderie and creativity were inspired by quotable quotes coming from Pauline charismatic texts. These texts were contemplated upon, concretized and communicated to all present through various presentations.
Truly, the spirit of being a family was even more strengthened through this year’s gathering.
The Pauline family celebrated the Pauline gathering at the Divine Master Convent in Cebu last November 25, 2018. This year’s host for the celebration was the community of PDDM Sisters, as the sisters also shared the joy of celebrating the 47th founding anniversary of PDDM community in Cebu. The gathering started with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist which was presided by the Priest from the Society of St. Paul. There were simple games, sharing of meal and memories of the founder after the celebration of the Holy Mass. This simple gathering culminated with the participation of the Pauline Family to the closing of the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated persons and the opening of the Year of the youth, an event organized by the Archdiocese of Cebu.
