On the Feast of St. Andrew, Apostle, November 30, 2021, the Friends of the Divine Master (FDM) National Level held a webinar on "Mental Health and Covid-19" with Dr. Eleanor Lacuna-Ronquillo as resource person.

The online gathering was attended by more than 30 Friends of the Divine Master from the different units in the Philippines--Antipolo, Pampanga, Manila, Cebu and Davao, together with Sr. Maria Luz Cabahug, their Coordinator.

Sr. M. Anthony Basa, the Provincial Superior of the Disciples of the Divine Master also gave an input on prayer and resilience. She mentioned St. Paul's way of facing his struggles during his time which for us can be a font of learning on how to handle our present realities.

Dr. Ronquillo who is an FDM herself shared about the effects of the pandemic to all of us especially to our mental health and spiritual life. She also tackled how to cope with depression and other mental health issues. She stressed the importance of self-help like having proper sleep routine, regular exercise, healthy food in-take and of course being firmly rooted in prayer.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the resource persons for this very timely informative and formative session.

The talk was followed by the sharing of reflections about the experiences, struggles and the coping responses of the participants during this time of the pandemic. Sr. M. Anthony also suggested that we can deal with life and lessen the tension by spending more time in silence, reflection, self-examination and prayer.

May this webinar be an aid for awareness and understanding of oneself. We also hope that its fruit may live on as we deepen our faith in Jesus, our Divine Master.
