GIFTS of VOCATIONS and COLLABORATORS

The 63rd Anniversary of the Definitive Approval of the PDDM was celebrated with the entrance to the novitiate of Postulants Hoa Thi Thai and Angelyn Africa last August 30, 2023.

The Philippine-Taiwan-Hong Kong Province remembered in special way the Pontifical approval granted on January 12, 1948, which affirmed the universal nature and apostolic effectiveness of our charism as a congregation, was definitively ratified on August 30, 1960.

Hoa from Vietnam and Angelyn from Bicol were admitted to the novitiate by Sr. M. Anthony Basa, the Provincial Superior and welcomed by all the professed PDDM sisters present at Divine Master Convent chapel in Antipolo City during the celebration of the Morning Prayer.   Novices Hoa and Angelyn were entrusted to the care of the Novice Formator, Sr. M. Bernadette Martinez.

There was also the rite of blessing of their religious habits, rosaries and the novitiate emblem officiated by Rev. Fr. Eugene Canete on August 29, 2023.

The Novitiate is a period of initiation into the consecrated life of the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master. The novice is accompanied in a gradual manner to grow in awareness of the vocation of the Sister Disciple; to experience the community life and specific mission according to the Rule of Life.

On the same day, we also had a simple celebration of the foundation anniversary of the PDDM Lay Mission Collaborators (PLMC).

The PLMC are composed of lay people who collaborate with the PDDM sisters in fulfilling their different ministries in the Church.

We thank God for the gift of the PDDM life and mission which is constantly blessed with vocations as well as collaborators to continue the work God has begun. May all the PDDM sisters remain faithful and fruitful in hastening the coming God’s reign in the world today.
