PTH First Provincial Assembly

In their 70th year of foundation, the Disciples of the Divine Master in the Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong held their First Provincial Assembly on July 18-23 (1st batch) and August 13-16, 2026 (2nd batch), at the Alberione House in Antipolo City, Philippines.

Forty-seven sisters participated in each batch, taking into account the apostolic commitments and realities of our communities.

The organization of the Provincial Assembly was primarily a response to the recommendation of our Superior General, Sr. M. Bernardita Meraz Sotelo. As prayerfully discerned by the Provincial Council, the Assembly was convoked for the first time. The celebration featured four highlights: a.) the Institutional and Administrative Reports on the Province; b.) the deepening of the Stars of Interculturality, Mission, Integral and Ongoing Formation, and Discernment as Lifestyle; the deepening of the Stars of Interculturality, Mission, Integral and Ongoing Formation, and Discernment as Lifestyle; c.) the Provincial Discernment about the Alberione Center property in Quezon City; and d.) the Liturgical Formation and Updating of the Sisters.

Guided by the Four Stars of the 10th General Chapter and the Final Message of the Superior General after her Fraternal Visit, which were deepened by the resource speakers—Rev. Fr. Mariano Agruda, III, OCD, and Sr. Agnes Wong, MMB, the sisters had a chance to see the present realities of the Province with gratitude, recognize both the lights and shadows of our journey with humility, and identify the courses of action which still need to be concretized with hope.

We are also grateful for the inspiring message sent by Sr. M. Bernardita Meraz Sotelo, which affirmed our intentions for this event. She asserted that, "the assembly is a formative space for all the sisters to discuss what is important for the entire Province, and to see the horizons of growth in all levels: personal, communitarian, apostolic, and our insertion into the pilgrim Church in the Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong."

As envisioned, we thank God that the Assembly was indeed a grace-filled experience of listening, reflection, synodal discernment, and communion.  We trust the Lord, who by his mercy and grace, will enable us to persevere and cooperate with Him in the fulfillment of the work He has begun for us through this Provincial Assembly. Deo gratias!

FINAL STATEMENT

We are grateful for the fruitful synodal experience of the First PDDM Philippines – Taiwan – Hong Kong Provincial Assembly held on July 19-23 and August 13-16, 2026, at Saint Paul Hall of the Alberione House, Antipolo City.

We have prayerfully reflected on the realities of our Province through the Institutional and Administrative Reports of the Provincial Superior and the Provincial Bursar, and have recognized God’s abundant grace and blessings in the past two and a half years despite our poverty, limitations, and weaknesses.

We, in the spirit of faith and renewed hope, guided by the reflections of our resource speakers—Rev. Fr. Mariano Agruda III, OCD and Sr. Agnes Wong, MMB— on the Four Stars of the Final Document of the 10th General Chapter, and the recommendations and encouragement of the Superior General, Sr. M. Bernardita Meraz Sotelo, during her recent Fraternal Visit, have proposed concrete COURSES OF ACTION for the life and mission of our Province.

We, enlightened by the legal counsel of Atty. Rene Antonio Cirio, and through our synodal journey of prayer, listening, and spiritual conversation, have reached a common discernment to relinquish the Alberione Center property in Quezon City. With faith and serenity, we entrust this decision and its consequences to the providence of God.

We move forward as women disciples and commit ourselves to carry out the courses of action, especially those of formation and the socio-pastoral dimensions of our Eucharistic-Priestly-Liturgical life, as relevant expressions of our vocation and mission in the Church and in the world today.

We trust in God’s providence, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the accompaniment of Jesus Master, Way, Truth, and Life. Through the intercessions of Mary, Queen of Apostles, Saint Paul the Apostle, and all our Pauline Saints, we embrace the future with hope, courage, and perseverance.
